1 September 2004 – Fantastic sunny day. Some clouds but mostly blue skies, hot 32 C. Not much wind and light/medium waves at the beach. 

2 September – Another nice day. Light clouds, some sunshine, hot 32 C. Becoming calmer at the beach (but don’t be fooled as 4 people have drowned in the last 5 days… !!!)

3 September – Even better day. Lots of sun and blue sky. Not much wind, hot 32 C. Calmer at the beach. Can this really be September ??

Patong Beach (looking north) – 3 September 2004 (15.00)

4 September – Duller day, overcast, cool 27 C. Drizzle rain on/off throughout the day. Not so nice. No wind so quite calm at the beach. Heavy rain arrived at 17.30 for the rest of the evening.

5 & 6 September – Mixed days, with some sun & some clouds. Warm 30 C. Not much wind. Calmer at the beach (but still not safe to swim !!!)

7 & 8 September – Very nice bright days. Lots of sun, some light clouds, Warm 30 C. Light wind, and medium waves at the beach.

Patong Beach (looking North) - 8 September (16.30)

9 September – Beautiful early morning, blue skies. But about 10.00 some dark clouds crept in over the hills to the back (east) of Patong. Fortunately the sky over the sea remained clear. Warm 31 C. Little wind. Medium to calm at the beach.

10 September – Mixed sort of day. Bright enough day, but light overcast in the morning, leading to darker clouds in the afternoon. Some weak sunshine from time to time. A very light rain shower about 14.30. Humid 31 C. Becoming calmer at the beaches.

Karon Beach – 10 September 2004 (14.00)

11 September – Very bright day, light haze, strong sunshine. Warm 31 C. No wind, light waves at the beach.

12 September – Mixed day. Bright morning with mixed sun & clouds. Becoming duller in the early afternoon with about an hour of heavy rain about 14.40. Then strong sunshine, then duller about 17.00…

13 September – Another mixed day with mixed sun & clouds. Mostly clouds in the afternoon with a few drops of rain about 11.00. Humid 29 -> 30 C. No wind, medium -> calm at the beaches.

14 September – Dull start to the day, very dark skies and always the threat of rain, but only a few drops of rain appeared. Brighter afternoon with quite a lot of strong sunshine. Warm 30 C. No wind, medium -> light waves at the beach.

15 September – Very mixed day. Started dull and cloudy. Became quite sunny by 12.00 and warm 30 C. But duller later on with a rain shower by 15.30 for 20 minutes. Cooler 27 C. No wind. Medium -> light waves at the beach. More rain in the evening.

Patong Beach (looking south) – 15 September 2004 (13.00)

16 September – Another mixed morning. Some cloud and some bright sunshine. No rain or wind. Warm 30 C. Cloudy afternoon with rain about 14.30 for 30 minutes. Dull for the rest of the afternoon. Then more rain later in the afternoon & evening. Today was much more like a typical September day.

17 September – Mixed sun & cloud morning. Becoming much sunnier during the afternoon. Warm 29 -> 30 C. No wind, bigger waves at the beaches.

18 September – Another typically mixed rainy season day on Phuket Island. Morning was bright but with many clouds. Becoming very dark by 13.00 with a quick 10-minute rainstorm, then a bright and sunny afternoon with some clouds. Warm 30 C. No wind. Medium waves at the beach. Rain again later afternoon….

19 September – Bad morning, cloudy and long rain showers most of the morning. Cool 27 C. Afternoon mixed sun, clouds and rain. Mostly rain from late afternoon. Surely the worst day so far this September….

20 September – Dull morning with dark clouds, rain on/off. Cool 27 C. Rough at the beach. Brighter afternoon but still very cloudy. No sun today.

21 September – Bright start to the day with sun over the sea and clouds over the hills. The clouds won and we have a short rain shower about 11.00 for 20 minutes. Then more sun for the rest of the afternoon, with mixed clouds. Medium 28 C. Medium waves at the beach.

22 September – Nice bright morning with mixed sun & clouds. Very pleasant weather… afternoon mixed clouds and sun all afternoon with just a few spots of rain. Warm 30 C. Light waves at the beaches.

23 & 24 September – Much the same as 22nd, but without the spots of rain. Nice bright days with mixed sun & clouds. Quite sunny by late afternoon. Warm 30 C. Light swell at the beaches.

25 September – Bright morning with mixed sun & clouds. Becoming duller by early afternoon, loud overhead thunder, and heavy rain showers on/off throughout the afternoon. Very dull, cool 27 C. Light swell at the beaches.

26 September – Mixed day, started bright enough. But by 10.30 clouds rolled in, thunder, very dull and persistent rain for over an hour. No rain after 13.30, but remained cloudy. Not much sun today. Medium 29 C.

27 September – Lovely morning, lots of blue sky and sun. Becoming more cloudy by mid-afternoon. Warm 30 C. Light swell at the beaches.

28 September – Overcast day, no rain, and not much sun.

29 September – Overcast day, no sun, and some light rain showers throughout the day morning. Becoming quite calm at the beaches. Medium 29 C. Heavier rain late afternoon.

30 September – Dull morning, some light rain. Becoming brighter in the afternoon, some weak sunshine by late afternoon. Becoming rougher at the beaches. Cool 28 - 29 C.
