2006 – Bright day, with a thin layer of cloud all day (since discovered haze
caused by forest fires in

Bright sunny day. Haze lifting as the day continued. No wind. Hot 34 C. Calm
seas. Some heavy rain for a few minutes late evening.
3 November –
Bright sunny day, with some scattered cloud. No wind. Warm 33 C. Calm seas. At
times, some few spots of rain.
4 November –
Hazy early morning start to the day. Haze son burned off by 09.00 leading to a
bright sunny day, with some light bands of cloud. Not much wind. Hot 35 C. Rain
shower rolled about 17.00 for an hour. Calm seas.
5 November –
Bright sunny day, with some light cloud. No wind. Warm 33 C. Calm seas.
Unfortunately the rain rolled in about 20.30 to spoil Loy Kratong.
6 - 9
November - Hazy early morning starts to the day. Haze son burned off by 09.00
leading to bright sunny days, with some light bands of cloud. Not much wind.
Hot 35 C. Calm seas. Very calm period of weather.
1 & 2
October 2006 – Cloudy days, with rain showers on/off all day. Heavy rain at
times. Very windy. Very cool 26 – 27 C. Very rough waves.
3 October –
Cloudy morning, with persistent rain and wind. Calmer afternoon, with layered
clouds and signs of improving weather. Cool 29 C. Very rough seas.
4 October -
Bright day, with layered cloud. Some weak sunlight filtering through the
clouds. Always the chance of a few spots of rain. Light winds. Medium 30 C.
Rough waves.
5 October –
Bright day, with mixed sun & clouds. Some very sunny periods during the
early afternoon. Short rain shower about 16.00. Medium 30 - 31 C. Rough waves
continue.
6 October –
Mixed sun & clouds. Quite dull & cloudy at times. Medium 30 – 31 C.
Rough waves.
7 October –
Bright day, with mixed sun & clouds. Some very sunny periods. Not much
wind. Some spots of rain late afternoon. Warm 32 C. Sea becoming calmer.
8 October – Bright sunny day. Blue
blue skies, no clouds. Light sea breeze. Very warm 34 C. Medium to light waves.

some very light clouds or haze. Warm 34 C. Medium to light waves.
10 October – Bright morning, but quite
cloudy. Becoming cloudier by afternoon, leading to persistent rain (heavy at
times) by 14.30 for the rest of the afternoon. No wind. Medium 30 – 31 C.
Medium to light waves.
11 October – Dull cloudy day.
Persistent light rain most of the morning. Cool 28 C. No wind. Medium to light
waves.
12 October – Bright day. Cloudy most
of the day. Persistent light rain throughout the day, with occasional heavy
rain shower later in the afternoon. Cool 25 – 26 C. Medium to light waves.
13 October – Bright day. With mixed
sun & clouds, though not that much sun, Light rain showers from time to
time. Rain storm blowing in from the sea
mid afternoon, only lasting a few minutes. Cool 28 – 29 C. Medium to light
waves
14 October –
Bright day, with mixed sun and clouds. Afternoon becoming sunnier. Warm 31 – 32
C. Light waves.
15 & 16
October – Bright sunny days. Some scattered clouds. Very warm 33 – 34 C. Almost
calm at the beaches.
17 October –
Bright sunny day, with some light scattered clouds. Slight sea breeze in the
afternoon. Becoming cloudy about 15.30 leading to light rain about 16.30 for
rest of the evening. Hot 34 C. Calm seas.
18 October –
Bright sunny day, with some light scattered clouds. Slight sea breeze in the
afternoon. Light rain about 18.30 for rest of the evening. Hot 34 C. Calm seas.
19 October –
Bright sunny day. Hot 34 C. Calm seas.
20 October –
Bright sunny day, with some light cloud cover later in the day. Warm 33 C. Calm
seas.
21 October –
Bright sunny day, with scattered clouds. No wind. Hot 34 – 35 C. Calm seas.
About 16.30 dark clouds rolled in from nowhere, bringing very heavy rain for
about an hour, then lighter rain until about 20.00.
22 October –
Bright sunny day, with some light cloud cover through the day. Warm 33 C. Calm
seas.
23 – 25
October – Bright sunny days, with some scattered clouds. Little wind. Warm 32 –
33 C. Calm seas. Early evenings (about 18.00) dark clouds roll in from the east
over the hills, bringing heavy rain for about 30 minutes. Rain accompanied by overhead
thunder & lightening.
26 & 27
October - Bright sunny day, with some scattered cloud through the day. Warm 33
C. Calm seas. Beautiful red sky sunsets.
28 & 29 October
– Bright sunny days, with scattered clouds. No wind. Warm 32 – 33 C. Calm seas.
About 18.00 dark clouds rolled in from over the hills, bringing very heavy rain
for about 15 minutes, accompanied by direct overhead bolt lightening and
thunder. Quite spectacular.
30 October –
Bright day, with mixed sun & clouds. Warm 33 C. Calm seas.
31 October –
Bright day, with mixed sun & clouds. Calm seas. Not much wind, Warm 32 C.
Some darker clouds rolling in from the NW about 17.00 bringing heavy rain for a
short time in Patong and some light rain in Kata. Clouds accompanied by thunder
& lightening for 30 minutes.
September
2006 was another typical rainy season month, with a mixture of sun, clouds
& rain throughout the month. Six really sunny days, 1 - 3 & 19 - 21
September. And 14 days with some sort
rain, although mostly short showers. The worst of the rainy periods 15 & 25
- 30 September. The other 10 days had mixed sun and clouds. The rainy days
cooler 27 – 29 C and the mixed sunny days from 30 – 34 C. Seas were mostly
medium to rough throughout the month. Most days were not suitable for swimming
away from the very shallow water. Mostly light winds, with some quite windy
days.

August 2006

rough throughout the month. Most days were not suitable for swimming away from
the very shallow water. Windy month.

July 2006
was another typical rainy season month, with a mixture of sun, clouds &
rain throughout the month. Six really sunny days, mostly during a fine weather
period from 22 – 25 July. And 12 days
with some sort rain, although mostly short showers. The worst of the rainy
periods 11 - 15 & 30 July. The other 13 days had mixed sun and clouds. The
rainy days cooler 27 – 29 C and the mixed sunny days from 30 – 34 C. Seas was
mostly rough throughout the month. All days were not suitable for swimming away
from the very shallow water. Unusually windy month.

June 2006
was a typical rainy season month, with a mixture of sun, clouds and rain
throughout the month. Only one really sunny day (28 June). And 16 days with some sort rain, although
mostly short showers. The worst of the rainy periods 14 – 19 and 24 - 26 June.
The other 13 days had mixed sun and clouds. The rainy days cooler 27 – 29 C and
the mixed sunny days from 30 – 33 C. Seas varied from medium to rough waves.
Most days were not suitable for swimming.

May 2006 was
a typical rainy season month, with a mixture of sun, clouds and rain throughout
the month. Only 6 really sunny days (1, 9, 10, 14, 27 & 31 May). And 11 days with some sort rain, although
mostly short showers. The worst of the rainy periods were 4 – 6 & 21 - 23 May.
The other 14 days had mixed sun and clouds. Most days were warm or hot from 30
– 33 C. Seas at the beaches were quite calm except for a very rough period from
20 – 23 May.

April 2006
was quite a poor weather month for the dry season. Only 5 really sunny days
(13, 24, 27, 28 & 30 April). And 11
days with some rain, although mostly short showers. No really rainy days. The

January
2006 had the unsettled weather from December 2005 carry over into the first
half of January. The first 12 days had
the worst of the weather with 5 rainy days. No really horrible days and the
rain only lasted at most 60 minutes. The last 19 days of January had the best
of the sunshine and quite settled weather. In total, 5 days with some rain and 16
very sunny days. Many days were quite cool 27 – 29. The sunny days warm 30 – 32
C. Seas at the beaches were mostly light waves to very calm.
