12 August – Bright and sunny day, with some scattered clouds. Windy. Hot 33 C. Rough at the beaches.

13 August – Dull morning, with a few short rain showers (hardly wet the ground). Brighter afternoon, with mixed sun & clouds. Less rough at Patong beach but Karon beach quite big surf.

14 August – Bright day, light overcast, with plenty of sunshine filtering through the cloud base. Less windy. Hot 33 C. Becoming slightly calmer at the beaches.

15 August – Hazy day (reports of Sumatra smoke reaching Phuket ?), plenty of sunshine filtering through the haze. Hot 33/34 C. Not much wind. Lazy swell at the beaches.

16 August – Hazy morning, with some sunshine filtering through the haze. Haze due to forest fires way over in Indonesia. Haze quite bad by mid-afternoon with visibility down to 1,000m. Not much wind, warm 32 C. Light waves at the beaches.

17 August – Bright sunny day, haze completely gone. Some light clouds in the blue sky. Not much wind. Hot 33 C. Light waves at the beaches.

18 August – Bright and mostly sunny day. Some clouds passing through. Not much wind. Sticky 32 – 33 C. Light waves at the beaches.

19 August – Mostly a cloudy day. A few light rain showers from 10.00 onwards for about 3 hours. No direct sunshine today. First rain for quite a number of days. Windy at times. Medium 31 C. Light waves at the beaches.
